Police have recovered a laptop stolen from German tourist Krill Lander at Natore railway station.

The laptop was recovered from a clothing shop in the Kafuria Patti area of Natore Sadar upazila at around 9:30pm on Sunday (October 11). A young man, Antor Kumar Saha, and his father have been taken into police custody in connection with the incident.

Natore Superintendent of Police Mohammad Shariful Haque said several police teams had been working to recover the laptop since it was reported missing on October 7. The device was eventually traced through digital technology and investigative efforts before being recovered in a police operation on Sunday night.

The police superintendent said that on October 8, Antor’s father, Amal Kumar Saha, found the laptop beneath a seat near Madhnagar railway station while travelling from Natore to Naogaon on the Titumir Express train. He then took it to his in-laws’ home in Naogaon and informed his son about the discovery.

After receiving the laptop from his father, Antor kept it and told him that they would decide what to do with it later. When the father and son came to Natore on Sunday, police tracked them and recovered the device.

The superintendent said Amal Kumar Saha and his son, Antor Kumar Saha, remain in police custody in connection with the recovery. No legal action has yet been taken against them. Police will verify the details of the incident before deciding on further steps.

Superintendent Shariful Haque expressed satisfaction over the recovery. He said police had spoken with the tourist, Krill Lander, who was also pleased to have his laptop returned. Police operations are continuing to recover the tourist’s other missing belongings.
