Girl trapped on sixth-floor ledge in Feni while trying to flee madrasa
A 12-year-old madrasa student in Feni was trapped on a sixth-floor window ledge after climbing to the roof of a seven-storey building in an attempt to flee, as she did not want to attend the madrasa. She was later rescued unharmed by police and Fire Service personnel.
The incident took place around 11:30am on Saturday, August 8, in the Charipur area of Feni town. She was rescued around 1:30pm after nearly two hours.
Feni Model Police Station Sub-Inspector Motahar Hossain said the child was enrolled at Charipur Darun Najat Women's Madrasa by her family, but she was not interested in studying there. On Saturday morning, her mother and aunt forced her to stay at the madrasa.
Around 11:30am, the child climbed to the roof of the seven-storey madrasa building. While attempting to climb down, she became trapped on the ledge of a sixth-floor window and grew terrified.
Local residents became alarmed after seeing the child trapped on the ledge. Police from Feni Model Police Station and Fire Service personnel rushed to the scene upon receiving the news.
Later, around 1:30pm, police and Fire Service personnel conducted a joint operation and rescued the child unharmed.
