GM Quader-led Jatiya Party announces candidates in 243 constituencies

The GM Quader-led faction of the Jatiya Party has announced candidates in 243 constituencies for the 13th National Parliamentary Election.

The final list of candidates was announced on Friday at a press conference held at a lakeside hotel in Gulshan. Jatiya Party Secretary General Shamim Haider Patwari unveiled the list.

Speaking at the press conference, Shamim Haider Patwari said the party’s final candidate list was published after thorough scrutiny. He expressed hope that the interim government would ensure equal opportunities for the Jatiya Party to participate in the election.

He said the Jatiya Party has always been an election-oriented political organisation. A free, fair and participatory national election requires a stable law and order situation and equal opportunity for all political parties. Although ensuring this is the responsibility of the interim government, he expressed concern that the government is failing to fulfil this duty under the current circumstances.

Shamim Haider Patwari added that Jatiya Party leaders and activists across the country are waiting for a festive election with participation from all sides. He also said the party faced some challenges in finalising nominations as multiple aspirants were contesting in several constituencies.
