Golam Rasul appointed as SB chief

Md. Golam Rasul has been appointed as the head of the Special Branch (SB) of the police. He has been promoted to the post of Additional IGP (current duty) and posted to the new post.

This information was given in a notification signed by Md. Mahabur Rahman Sheikh, Deputy Secretary of the Public Security Department of the Ministry of Home Affairs on Monday (January 13).

It said that DIG of the Special Branch of the police Md. Golam Rasul has been promoted to the post of Additional IG (current duty) and posted to the same department.

Earlier, in a notification on December 18, DIG of Dhaka Police Staff College Golam Rasul was posted to SB. In the same notification, the then head of SB, Additional IGP Khondaker Rafiqul Islam, was posted to the Anti-Terrorism Unit (ATU).
