Gold price cut by Tk 4,374 per bhori

The price of gold in the domestic markets has been cut again, with the Bangladesh Jewellers Association (BAJUS) reducing the rate of 22-carat gold by Tk 4,374 per bhori, including VAT.

The new prices came into effect at 10am on Wednesday (September 2), following a decision taken at a meeting of BAJUS’s Price Determination and Price Monitoring Standing Committee at 9am.

Under the revised rate, 22-carat gold will now cost Tk 231,880 per bhori (11.664 grams), down from Tk 236,254 previously.

The price of 21-carat gold has been set at Tk 221,441 per bhori, while 18-carat gold will cost Tk 190,123. Gold under the traditional system has been priced at Tk 155,306 per bhori.

BAJUS has also reduced silver prices across all categories. The new rate for 22-carat silver is Tk 5,016 per bhori, while 21-carat silver will cost Tk 4,782, 18-carat silver Tk 4,082 and traditional silver Tk 3,091 per bhori.
