Gold price cut by Tk 4,474 per bhori in domestic markets
The Bangladesh Jewellers Association (BAJUS) has cut the price of gold in the local market, reducing the rate of 22-carat gold by Tk 4,474 per bhori.
Under the revised pricing, a bhori of 22-carat gold jewellery will cost Tk 236,254, including VAT. BAJUS said the price adjustment followed a decline in the price of locally sourced Tejabi gold.
The decision was taken at a meeting of its Standing Committee on Pricing and Price Monitoring on Monday (August 31).
The new rate came into effect at 10am today.
The revised rate was announced in a notice signed by the committee’s chairman, Dr Dewan Aminul Islam Shaheen.
A bhori of gold weighs 11.664 grams. With the latest adjustment, customers will now have to pay Tk 236,254, including VAT, for one bhori of 22-carat gold jewellery.
