Gold price drops by tk 3,266 per bhori

Gold prices in the local market have been reduced, with the price of 22-carat gold falling by Tk 3,266 per bhori to Tk 246,927.

The new rates were announced by the Bangladesh Jewellers Association (BAJUS) in an official statement on Thursday morning. The revised prices came into effect from 10:00am today (April 23).

According to the statement, the price of pure gold (acid gold) has declined in the local market, prompting the adjustment in overall gold prices.

Under the new rates:

22-carat gold: Tk 246,927 per bhori (down by Tk 3,265)
21-carat gold: Tk 235,671 per bhori (down by Tk 3,149)
18-carat gold: Tk 202,020 per bhori (down by Tk 2,683)
Traditional method gold: Tk 164,521 per bhori (down by Tk 2,216)

Silver prices have also been reduced:

22-carat silver: Tk 5,715 per bhori (down by Tk 350)
21-carat silver: Tk 5,424 per bhori (down by Tk 350)
18-carat silver: Tk 4,665 per bhori (down by Tk 292)
Traditional method silver: Tk 3,499 per bhori (down by Tk 233)
