Gold price rises again by over Tk 6,500 per bhori

The price of gold in Bangladesh surged again on Wednesday (April 8), with the Bangladesh Jewellers’ Association (BAJUS) raising rates by Tk 6,590 per vori.

According to a BAJUS statement, the new price for 22-carat gold stands at Tk 2,52,409 per vori, while 21-carat is Tk 2,40,920, 18-carat Tk 2,06,511, and traditional gold Tk 1,68,195 per vori.

The adjustment comes amid a rise in local pure (tejabi) gold prices.

Earlier, on April 6, gold prices were reduced, with 22-carat gold at Tk 2,45,819 per vori. This year alone, the market has seen 53 price adjustments—31 increases and 22 decreases. In 2025, gold prices were adjusted 93 times, with 64 hikes and 29 cuts.

Silver prices also rose, with 22-carat silver increasing by Tk 350 to Tk 5,890 per vori. Other rates are 21-carat Tk 5,599, 18-carat Tk 4,782, and traditional silver Tk 3,616 per vori.

In 2026, silver prices have been revised 32 times, including 18 increases and 14 decreases. In 2025, silver saw 10 price hikes and three cuts across 13 adjustments.
