Gold prices have been lowered again in the country, with the Bangladesh Jewellers Association (BAJUS) cutting the price of 22-carat gold by Tk2,158 per bhori.

Under the revised rates, a bhori of 22-carat gold will cost Tk231,880, down from Tk234,038 on Wednesday.

The new prices were approved unanimously at a meeting of BAJUS’s Standing Committee on Pricing and Price Monitoring at 9:00am Friday and took effect at 10:00am.

BAJUS said the latest adjustment followed a decline in the price of pure gold, with overall market conditions also taken into consideration.

Under the new price structure, 21-carat gold will cost Tk221,441 per bhori, while 18-carat gold has been set at Tk190,123. Gold sold under the traditional system will cost Tk155,306 per bhori.
