Gold prices fall after four consecutive hikes
After four consecutive increases, gold prices in Bangladesh have dropped, the Bangladesh Jewellers Association (BAJUS) said.
According to BAJUS, the new rates took effect from 10:00am on Monday (April 6).
The price of the highest-quality 22-carat gold has been reduced by Tk 2,158 per bhori (11.664 grams) to Tk 245,819. Similarly, 21-carat gold dropped by Tk 2,100 to Tk 234,621 per bhori, while 18-carat gold fell by Tk 1,749 to Tk 201,146 per bhori.
Traditional gold prices were also lowered by Tk 1,458 per bhori, bringing the new rate to Tk 163,821.
This marks the first correction in the market after a sustained upward trend in gold prices.
