Gold prices fall again by Tk 2,216
Gold prices in across the country have been reduced for the second consecutive time, with the price of 22-carat gold dropping by Tk 2,216 per bhori following a fresh adjustment by the Bangladesh Jewellers Association (BAJUS).
The new rates came into effect from 10:00am on Thursday (June 25) after BAJUS announced the revision, citing a decline in the prices of pure gold and silver in the international market.
Under the latest pricing structure, 22-carat gold is now being sold at Tk 223,074 per bhori. The price of 21-carat gold has been set at Tk 213,043 per bhori, while 18-carat gold will cost Tk 182,950 per bhori. Traditional-method gold is now priced at Tk 149,474 per bhori.
BAJUS said the revised rates include VAT, although making charges for jewellery will vary depending on design and craftsmanship.
Silver prices have also been reduced following the latest review. The price of 22-carat silver has been fixed at Tk 4,491 per bhori, while 21-carat silver will be sold at Tk 4,257 per bhori. The prices of 18-carat and traditional silver have been set at Tk 3,674 and Tk 2,741 per bhori respectively.
