Gold prices fall again nationwide within 24 hours

Gold prices in across the country have declined again within 24 hours, with the rate of 22-carat gold—the highest quality—reduced by Tk 2,158 per bhori, according to the latest announcement from the Bangladesh Jewellers Association (BAJUS).

Following the revision, the price of 22-carat gold now stands at Tk 2,40,337 per bhori. The new rates came into effect from 10:00am on Thursday, the association said in a statement.

Under the updated price list, 21-carat gold is now priced at Tk 2,29,431 per bhori, while 18-carat gold costs Tk 1,96,655. Gold produced under the traditional method has been set at Tk 1,60,147 per bhori.

This marks the second adjustment in as many days. On April 29, the price of 22-carat gold was set at Tk 2,42,495 per bhori, indicating a further decline within a short span.

According to BAJUS data, gold prices in the domestic market have been adjusted 59 times so far this year, including 32 increases and 27 decreases. In 2025, prices were revised 93 times, with 64 increases and 29 decreases.

Meanwhile, silver prices remain unchanged. Currently, 22-carat silver is selling at Tk 5,482 per bhori, 21-carat at Tk 5,190, 18-carat at Tk 4,491, and traditional silver at Tk 3,383 per bhori.

So far this year, silver prices have been adjusted 36 times—19 increases and 17 decreases. In 2025, silver prices were revised 13 times, including 10 increases and three decreases.
