Gold prices hit record high
Bangladesh Jewellers Association (Bajus) has once again raised gold prices, setting a new record in the country's history.
The price of 22-carat gold has been increased by Tk 1,889 to Tk 1,91,196 per bhori (11.664 grams), the highest so far in the country’s history.
According to a Bajus press release issued on Monday, the new rate will come into effect from Tuesday (Sept 23).
Besides, 21-carat gold was increased by Tk 1,796 to Tk 1,82,495 a bhori, 18-carat by Tk 1,540 to Tk 1,56,426, and gold of traditional method by Tk 1,318 to Tk 1,29,797 respectively.
The prices have been hiked following a rise in the price of pure gold in the local market, BAJUS said in a statement.
