Gold prices rise again
Gold prices have increased once again, with the price of 22-carat gold rising by Tk 2,216 per bhori, taking the new rate to Tk 244,711.
The new prices came into effect from 10am, according to a statement issued by the Bangladesh Jewellers Association (BAJUS) on Thursday (May 7).
BAJUS said the price hike was driven by an increase in the price of pure gold in the local market.
Under the revised rates, the price of 21-carat gold has been set at Tk 233,572 per bhori (11.664 grams), while 18-carat gold will cost Tk 200,213 per bhori.
The price of gold under the traditional method has been fixed at Tk 163,063 per bhori.
Earlier on Wednesday, BAJUS had also raised gold prices by Tk 2,158 per bhori, setting the price of 22-carat gold at Tk 242,495.
