Gold prices have risen in local markets, with the Bangladesh Jewellers Association (BAJUS) raising the price of 22-carat gold by Tk1,050 per bhori, effective from 10am Saturday (September 12).
Under the revised rates, a bhori of 22-carat gold now costs Tk232,930. The price of 21-carat gold has also increased by Tk 1,050 to Tk 222,491 per bhori.
The price of 18-carat gold has risen by Tk 933 to Tk 191,056 per bhori, while traditional-method gold now costs Tk 156,064 after an increase of Tk 758.
BAJUS announced the revised prices in a press release, citing its latest decision on the local market.
The association, however, left silver prices unchanged, meaning silver will continue to be sold at the existing rates.
