Gono Odhikar Parishad issued a 48-hour ultimatum demanding ban on  the Jatiya Party.

At the same time, the party has raised two more demands. Those are: the formation of an investigation committee into the attack on Gono Odhikar Parishad President Nurul Haque Nur by Saturday and the resignation of the Home Affairs Adviser taking responsibility for the incident.

Rashed Khan, the organization's general secretary, made these demands at a protest rally organized in front of the party's central office in Bijoynagar in the capital on Saturday afternoon (August 30).

The speakers in the rally alleged that the attack on Nur was planned. They announced to stage a resistance on the streets until the Jatiya Party was banned.

Various slogans were raised at the rally. At this time, the protesters also burned tires on the street.

Later, a procession left the party office and passed through Purana Paltan intersection, National Press Club, Matsya Bhaban, Kakrail intersection, and ended in front of the office again.
