Government has moved away from knee-jerk foreign policy with India: Asif
Asif Mahmud Sajib Bhuiyan, adviser to the Ministry of Local Government, Rural Development, and Cooperatives, and Youth and Sports, said that the interim government does not believe in any foreign relations that compromises with our national interests.
He said: "The interim government has moved away from a knee-jerk foreign policy with India. Future relations will continue keeping national interests in mind."
He said this after the concluding session of the International Delegation Workshop on Financial Inclusion and Rural Transformation held at the Lalmai Auditorium of the Cumilla Rural Development Academy (BARD) on Wednesday (December 11) as the chief guest.
Regarding the local government elections, Asif said: "It is becoming very difficult to manage the work of public representatives by giving additional responsibilities to government and administrative officials."
"For this reason, the Local Reform Commission and the Election Commission will take initiative after the work is completed to determine whether any action can be taken regarding the election of local government representatives."
