Government has trained 22,000 people in skin preservation: Minister
22,000 people have been trained in skinning and preserving sacrificial animals, said Agriculture, Fisheries and Livestock Minister Mohammed Aminur Rashid.
He said this in response to a question from reporters after distributing agricultural machinery among marginal farmers in Cumilla's Adarsh Sadar Upazila on Monday afternoon (May 25).
The Livestock Minister said, "Most of the skins are spoiled due to wrong skinning techniques and lack of proper preservation. However, this time the government has trained 22,000 people in skinning and preserving to prevent skin spoilage and ensure fair prices."
He also said that the slump in the sacrificial market will reach the target after overcoming the slump. People usually start buying their favorite animals in full swing two to three days before Eid. The current slump will not remain. Animal sales will reach the target set by the government.
Earlier, the minister distributed 28 agricultural machinery parts, including five rice harvesters, among farmers under the Sustainable Agricultural Technology Expansion Project in the Cumilla region.
