Government raises octane-petrol-kerosene prices

In line with the change in fuel prices in the world market, the government has increased the prices of octane, petrol and kerosene by Tk 5 per liter. Diesel prices have been kept unchanged.

This information was given in a notification by the Department of Energy and Mineral Resources on Sunday (May 31). The new prices will be effective from 12 midnight on Monday (June 1).

According to the new prices, diesel will be sold at Tk 115 per liter, octane at Tk 145, petrol at Tk 140 and kerosene at Tk 135. Earlier, octane was Tk 140, petrol at Tk 135 and kerosene at Tk 130.

The Department of Energy said that fuel oil prices are being adjusted every month in line with the world market under the automatic pricing system. Although the prices remained unchanged in May, new prices have been set for June.

Earlier, on April 18, the price of octane was increased by Tk 20 to Tk 140, petrol by Tk 19 to Tk 135, diesel by Tk 15 to Tk 115, and kerosene by Tk 18 to Tk 130.
