Government to buy one cargo of LNG from Singapore
The Cabinet Committee on Government Purchase has approved the proposal to purchase one cargo of liquefied natural gas (LNG) from Singapore-based Aramco Trading Singapore Pte Ltd.
The approval was given at a meeting held via online platform Zoom on Friday, August 7, chaired by the Adviser for the Ministry of Finance and Planning.
The meeting was informed that one cargo of LNG will be purchased from Aramco Trading Singapore Pte Ltd on a government-to-government (G2G) basis for delivery on August 11-12, 2026.
The price per MMBtu of LNG has been fixed at $21.55. A single LNG cargo contains 33,60,000 MMBtu. The total cost of this cargo amounts to approximately $7,24,08,000.
Meanwhile, a proposal to purchase LNG from Gunvor USA LLC on a G2G basis for the period 2026 to 2038 was withdrawn from the meeting by the Energy and Mineral Resources Division. As a result, no decision was taken on the matter.
