Govt appoints Abdul Momen as new ACC chairman

The government has appointed Abdul Momen as the new chairman of the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC).

The public administration ministry issued a gazette notification in this regard on Tuesday (10 December).

He will replace Mohammad Abdul Momen, former senior secretary of the home ministry, who resigned from the position on Sunday (8 December).

According to the ministry notification, two others - Mian Md Ali Akbar Azizi and Brig Gen (retd) Hafiz Ahsan Farid - has been appointed as ACC commissioners.

According to sources, the Ministry of Public Administration forwarded his resignation to the chief adviser on Monday (9 December), and it was accepted the same day.

In his resignation letter, Momen cited "personal" reasons for stepping down.
