Govt appoints chiefs to 15 directorates, agencies in single notification

The government has appointed new chiefs to the top positions of 15 directorates and agencies simultaneously. The Ministry of Public Administration issued 15 separate notifications in this regard on Sunday, April 26.

According to the notifications, 15 additional secretary-rank officials have been given responsibilities as director generals or equivalent positions in various organisations on deputation.

Among them, Mu Jasim Uddin Khan, additional secretary of the Ministry of Home Affairs, has been made Director General of the Directorate of Food. Md Lutfar Rahman, additional secretary of the Ministry of Agriculture, has been appointed Director General of the Department of Environment.

MM Arif Pasha, additional secretary of the Ministry of Land, has been made Director General of the Department of Agricultural Marketing. Md Abdullah Al-Mamun, director (additional secretary) of the Department of Disaster Management, has been appointed Director General of the National Freedom Fighter Council.

Additionally, Kazi Mohammad Saiful Islam, additional secretary of the Ministry of Home Affairs, has been made Director General of the Bureau of Non-Formal Education. Khondkar Anwar Hossain has been appointed Director General of the National Youth Development Department, and Md Asaduzzaman has been made Director General of the Wage Earners' Welfare Board.

Dil Afroz, additional secretary of the Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism, has been appointed Director General of the Directorate of Nursing and Midwifery. ASM Mustafizur Rahman has been made Director General of the Department of Patents, Designs and Trademarks.

Abul Hasnat Muhammad Anwar Pasha, additional secretary of the Planning Division, has been appointed Director General of the National Identity Registration Sub-Division. Delwar Hossain has been made Director General of the Governance Innovation Unit.

Hasan Mahmud has been given responsibility as Registrar General of the Office of the Registrar General of Birth and Death Registration.

Additionally, three authorities have received new chairmen. Md Abdul Hai, additional director general of the Directorate of Primary Education, has been appointed Chairman of the Non-Government Teachers Registration and Certification Authority. Md Shafiqul Islam has been made Chairman of the Bangladesh Safe Food Authority. Mohammad Habibur Rahman has been appointed Chairman of the National Housing Authority.

Necessary orders have been issued entrusting the appointed officials to their respective ministries.
