Govt appoints new chairmen to NCTB, five education boards
The government has appointed new chairmen to the National Curriculum and Textbook Board (NCTB) and five education boards — Dhaka, Jessore, Rajshahi, Cumilla and the Bangladesh Madrasa Education Board.
The Ministry of Education's Secondary and Higher Education Division issued separate notifications on Monday, June 8, appointing the new chairmen.
According to the notifications, Professor Mohammad Fakhrul Maola, vice-principal of Chattogram Commerce College, has been appointed as chairman of NCTB. Professor Syed Akhtaruzzaman, examination controller of Mymensingh Education Board, has been appointed as chairman of the Dhaka Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board.
Shamim Ara Chowdhury, secretary of the Rajshahi Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board, has been appointed as its chairman. Md Ahsan Parvez, principal of Daulatdia or Debiddar Government SS College, has become chairman of the Cumilla Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board.
Professor Faruk-e-Azam Md Abdul Salam, principal of Khulna's Hazi Muhammad Mohsin College, has been appointed as chairman of the Jessore Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board.
Additionally, Professor Khondkar Mohammad Sadekur Rahman, secretary of Cumilla Education Board, has been appointed as chairman of the Madrasa Education Board.
