The government has appointed press ministers to the foreign missions in New Delhi, India and London, the United Kingdom. In separate notifications issued on Sunday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs appointed Faisal Mahmud and Akbar Hossain Majumdar as the ministers of the press wing to the Bangladesh High Commissions in New Delhi and London respectively. The appointments are contingent on them relinquishing work-relations with any other profession, business, or government, semi-government, and private organisaitons. Both the press ministers will be appointed contractually for two years. The notifications were issued upon the orders of the president, and signed by Hayat Md Rafiq, deputy secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

ভারতের নয়াদিল্লি ও যুক্তরাজ্যের লন্ডনে বাংলাদেশ হাইকমিশনে প্রেস উইংয়ের মিনিস্টার (প্রেস) পদে দুজনকে নিয়োগ দিয়েছে অন্তর্বর্তী সরকার। রবিবার (২৪ নভেম্বর) পররাষ্ট্র মন্ত্রণালয় থেকে এ সংক্রান্ত জারি করা পৃথক প্রজ্ঞাপনে এ তথ্য জানানো হয়। প্রজ্ঞাপন অনুযায়ী, নয়াদিল্লিতে নিয়োগ পেয়েছেন ফয়সাল মাহমুদ এবং লন্ডনে নিয়োগ পেয়েছেন আকবর হোসেন মজুমদার। তারা দুজনেই পেশাদার সাংবাদিক। এদের মধ্যে আকবর হোসেন বিবিসির ঢাকা ব্যুরোর জ্যেষ্ঠ সাংবাদিক ছিলেন। এতে আরও বলা হয়, যে কোনো পেশা, ব্যবসা কিংবা সরকারি, আধা-সরকারি, বেসরকারি প্রতিষ্ঠান/সংগঠনের সাথে কর্ম-সম্পর্ক পরিত্যাগের শর্তে তাদের চুক্তিভিত্তিক নিয়োগ দেয়া হয়েছে।
