The interim government has strongly condemned the burning of the body of Nurul Haque, widely known as Nural Pagla, in the Goalanda upazila of Rajbari district, calling the act "inhumane and heinous."

In an official statement issued on Friday, the government expressed deep concern and outrage over the incident, stating that it represents a grave violation of human dignity, social values, and the rule of law.

“The desecration of Nurul Haque’s grave and the burning of his body is a blatant insult to our core values and a civilized society,” the statement said. “Such barbarity will not be tolerated under any circumstances.”

The interim government reiterated its firm commitment to upholding justice and ensuring dignity for every individual — both living and deceased. It pledged swift and decisive action against those responsible.

“We are committed to protecting the rule of law and human dignity. The perpetrators will be identified promptly and brought under legal action,” the statement added. “No person or group is above accountability.”

The government confirmed that immediate and strict legal measures will be taken, and it assured the public that justice will be served.

In addition, the statement called on citizens to reject all forms of hatred and violence, and to remain united in support of dignity, justice, and humanity.

“Let us stand together against such acts of cruelty and uphold the values that define a just and humane society,” the government urged.

The incident has sparked widespread condemnation across social and political circles, with calls for exemplary punishment for those involved.
