Govt deploys nationwide comprehensive security measures ahead of Eid-e-Miladunnabi
The government has put in place comprehensive security arrangements across the country to ensure the peaceful observance of Eid-e-Miladunnabi, which will be marked with religious solemnity on Friday (September 5).
Authorities have prioritized the safety of congregations and processions in major cities including Dhaka, Chattogram, Sylhet, Khulna, and Rajshahi. Law enforcement agencies have been instructed to maintain heightened vigilance, particularly around mosques and religious sites expected to draw large crowds.
Home Affairs Adviser Lieutenant General (Retd) Md Jahangir Alam Chowdhury directed law enforcement to ensure foolproof security and prevent any untoward incidents. Enhanced surveillance and patrolling have already been deployed at sensitive locations.
In addition to security, crowd management and traffic regulation have been planned to facilitate the smooth movement of devotees throughout the day.
Eid-e-Miladunnabi marks the birth and passing of the Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) on the 12th of Rabiul Awal in the Islamic calendar. It is observed with reverence by Muslims around the world.
Various government and non-government organizations, including the Islamic Foundation, have organized special programs to commemorate the day, including religious discussions, prayer gatherings, and processions.
The day will be observed nationwide with due respect and devotion.
