Govt to appoint 5,493 doctors

Syeda Rizwana Hasan, Adviser to the Ministry of Environment, Forests, and Climate Change, said that the government will appoint 5,493 doctors through the Bangladesh Public Service Commission (BPSC) to enhance healthcare services. She also said that Saudi Arabia's state-owned company Aramco will provide oil at a reduced price.

She made these comments during a press briefing at the Foreign Service Academy on Bailey Road in the capital, following the Advisory Council meeting on Tuesday (March 4).

The meeting was chaired by Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus.

Syeda Rizwana Hasan said, "5,493 doctors will be appointed through the BPSC for the development of healthcare services. This decision was made at today's Advisory Council meeting."

"Saudi Arabia’s state-owned oil and gas producer Aramco has agreed to supply oil at a lower price to Bangladesh. Additionally, the government has decided to import liquefied natural gas (LNG) from two countries," he added.
