Govt to buy 25 aircraft from Boeing: Commerce Secretary
The government has placed an order to purchase 25 aircraft from the U.S. based aerospace company Boeing, Commerce Secretary Mahbubur Rahman confirmed on Sunday.
Speaking to reporters at the Secretariat, the Commerce Secretary said Boeing operates independently of the U.S. government. “We have ordered 25 aircraft from Boeing. This follows similar orders from countries like India, Vietnam, and Indonesia, each of which has ordered 100 planes,” he added.
Mahbubur Rahman noted that the delivery of the aircraft will depend on Boeing’s production capacity, and it may take some time before the planes are supplied.
