Govt to introduce central exam system for appointing heads at private educational institutions
The government is set to introduce a major overhaul in the recruitment of heads and assistant heads at private schools, colleges, and madrasas, shifting to a centralised examination system.
In a statement issued on Sunday (April 5), the Non-Government Teachers’ Registration and Certification Authority (NTRCA) said the move aims to ensure greater transparency and accountability in the appointment process.
Under the new system — the first of its kind since independence — candidates will be recruited based on merit through a centrally administered exam, replacing the longstanding institutional selection method.
Details of the recruitment framework, exam structure, and the process to fill 12,951 vacant posts will be disclosed at a press briefing on April 7.
The briefing will be led by NTRCA Chairman Md. Aminul Islam, who is expected to outline the implementation plan and address media queries.
