Govt to procure 9 cargo LNG to meet country's energy demand
Cabinet Committee on Government Purchase (CCGP) has recommended a proposal for approval to procure nine LNG cargoes from Trafigura Pte Ltd between December 2026 and December 2027 under a government-to-government arrangement.
The approval came from the 49th meeting of the CCGP in this year held on Tuesday virtually with Finance Minister Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury in the chair.
The proposal placed by the Energy and Mineral Resources Division also allows the two parties to agree on a lower or higher number of cargoes.
The proposed pricing formula stands at JKM-US$0.10 per million British thermal units (MMBtu).
The committee recommended the proposal for approval.
