Govt to provide full medical support to injured in training aircraft crash

The government has assured full medical assistance to those injured in the recent plane crash in Uttara. Medical teams have been deployed at Kuwait Maitree Hospital and the National Burn and Plastic Surgery Unit to provide immediate care.

The incident occurred shortly after the aircraft, an F-7 BAI training plane of the Bangladesh Air Force, took off at 1:06 PM on Monday. The plane tragically crashed at 1:18 PM near the Milestone School and College campus in Uttara.

Flight Lieutenant Towkir Islam Sagar, the pilot, was killed in the crash. So far, 25 injured individuals have been rescued and admitted to the National Burn and Plastic Surgery Unit. Among the injured are children.

Following the accident, fire service units promptly responded. Ten fire units from Uttara, Tongi, Pallabi, Kurmitola, Mirpur, and Purbachal are actively involved in rescue operations. Two platoons of the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) have also been deployed to assist with rescue efforts and maintain law and order. The first fire service unit arrived on the scene at 1:22 PM.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), over a hundred students have been rescued and sent to various hospitals for treatment. Rescue operations are ongoing as authorities work to manage the situation.
