The interim government is set to replace the Cyber Security Act with a proposed Cyber Protection Act, Law Adviser Asif Nazrul said on Tuesday. Briefing the press about the law ministry's achievement during the first 100 days of his tenure in office, the law adviser said the government was also in the process of instituting regulations for appointing Supreme Court judges. Asif said, the amended International Crimes Tribunal Act was ready to be put up for adoption by the cabinet. He expects that this would be done in a day or two.

সাইবার নিরাপত্তা আইনের পরিবর্তে প্রস্তাবিত সাইবার সুরক্ষা আইন অন্তর্বর্তী সরকার নিয়ে আসবে বলে জানিয়েছেন আইন উপদেষ্টা আসিফ নজরুল। তার কার্যকালের প্রথম ১০০ দিনের মধ্যে আইন মন্ত্রণালয়ের অর্জন সম্পর্কে এক প্রেস ব্রিফিংয়ে আইন উপদেষ্টা এ তথ্য জানান। তিনি বলেন, ‘সরকার সুপ্রিম কোর্টের বিচারক নিয়োগের জন্য প্রবিধান প্রণয়ন প্রক্রিয়ার মধ্যে রয়েছে।’ আসিফ নজরুল বলেন, ‘সংশোধিত আন্তর্জাতিক অপরাধ ট্রাইব্যুনাল আইন মন্ত্রিসভায় গৃহীত হওয়ার জন্য প্রস্তুত রয়েছে। দু-একদিনের মধ্যেই এটা হয়ে যাবে বলেও আশা প্রকাশ করেন তিনি।
