Habiganj district Chhatra Dal president threatened, GD filed
Habiganj district Chhatra Dal president Shah Rajib Ahmed Ringon has been threatened on Facebook with being "found and buried alive". A general diary (GD) has been filed at the Habiganj Sadar Model Police Station over security concerns.
Habiganj Sadar Model Police Station Officer-in-Charge Md Jahidul Haque confirmed the matter on Monday (August 3).
According to the GD, Ringon's brother Md Jahangir Alam alleged that on Sunday, a Facebook account of a person named Maulana Kamrul Islam Khan threatened to find Ringon and "bury him alive". The GD stated that Ringon and his family members are facing insecurity following the incident.
The GD further alleged that the individual has been making objectionable and indecent remarks on social media about BNP, its associate bodies, and BNP MP and Chief Whip G K Gaush. The complaint also claimed that these posts are tarnishing the party's image.
Complainant Jahangir Alam said the open threat has created panic among family members. The GD was filed so that legal action could be taken if any untoward incident occurs in the future.
Habiganj Sadar Model Police Station OC Md Jahidul Haque said the complaint will be investigated and the authenticity of the Facebook post will be verified. Necessary legal action will be taken based on the investigation.
