The body of Sharif Osman Hadi, spokesperson of Inqilab Mancha, is scheduled to arrive in Bangladesh on Friday evening at around 6:00pm. His coffin will land at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport on a regular flight from Singapore.

Following the arrival, Hadi’s body will be taken to the Dhaka University (DU) Central Mosque to allow the public to pay their last respects.

The information was shared in a Facebook post by Inqilab Mancha on Friday afternoon (December 19).

According to the post, supporters have been requested to stand in an orderly manner along both sides of the road from the airport towards Shahbagh to receive him. From there, the body will be taken to the DU Central Mosque.

Hadi died on Thursday night at 9:45pm at Singapore General Hospital after battling for life for seven days. He had earlier announced his intention to contest as a potential candidate in the Dhaka-8 constituency.

The government has declared a day of state mourning on Saturday over his death. In a national address on Thursday night, Chief Adviser Dr Muhammad Yunus said the state would take responsibility for Hadi’s wife and only child.
