Police have recovered the hanging body of a 31-year-old housewife named Jeba Adiba from Bailey Road in the capital's Ramna area. Police initially suspect that she died by suicide following a marital dispute. Jeba worked as a nail artist.

Sub-Inspector (SI) Md. Mostafizur Rahman of Ramna Police Station confirmed the matter. He stated that upon receiving information via the 999 emergency hotline around 11am, Jeba's body was recovered hanging from a ceiling fan inside an apartment in the KFC alley on Bailey Road on Monday.

Later, following legal procedures, her body was sent to the Dhaka Medical College morgue in the evening for an autopsy.

Citing preliminary police investigations, SI Md. Mostafizur Rahman said that Jeba was suffering from mental depression due to marital discord. It is primarily known that she died by suicide by hanging herself from the fan after consuming rat poison in the morning.

Police stated that Jeba had been previously married. Following her divorce from her first husband, she married another man named Tanoy. Marital disputes had been ongoing between them regarding suspicions toward her husband.

However, police noted that whether there were any other reasons behind her death beyond marital strife will be confirmed following the autopsy report and further investigation.

Jeba Adiba's late father was Abul Ahsan. Her family home is located in New Eskaton, Dhaka.
