Mohammad Hanif, popularly known as 'Hanif Bangladeshi', has started a road march from Tetulia in Panchagarh, the northernmost district of the country, demanding the cancellation of the trade agreement signed with the United States during the tenure of the interim government.

He launched the march from the Tetul Gach Tala area in Tetulia upazila town on Saturday morning, June 13. He later held a rally at Chourongi Mor in Panchagarh district town as part of the road march.

Hanif Bangladeshi said the road march under his leadership will proceed through various districts daily and end in Teknaf, Cox's Bazar, on June 18.

A few leaders and activists of the Bangladesh Somota Party participated in the programme.

Speaking at the rally, Hanif Bangladeshi alleged that the 'reciprocal trade' agreement signed with the United States during the final days of the interim government is against the country's interests. He demanded that it be presented in the ongoing parliament and cancelled.

He further said those responsible for this anti-state agreement, including Muhammad Yunus and his government's advisers, must be brought under accountability.

Hanif Bangladeshi has previously organised several protest programmes, including a Teknaf-to-Tetulia march, symbolic protests, and displaying red cards, demanding voting rights, an end to border killings, and action against corruption.
