The body of an employee of the High Court division has been recovered from a washroom of the Bijoy 71 building located on the Supreme Court premises. The body was recovered around 2:30 pm on Monday, June 1, from beside the washroom on the eighth floor of the building. The deceased has been identified as Kamal Hossain, who worked as a jamadar in the bench of High Court Justice Enayetur Hossain. According to witnesses and police sources, he was found hanging from a grill inside the washroom. Shahbagh Police Station police recovered the body after being informed. Preliminary investigation suggests it is a case of suicide. The body is being sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy to confirm the exact cause of death. Legal action will be taken after a detailed investigation.

সুপ্রিম কোর্ট প্রাঙ্গণে অবস্থিত বিজয় ৭১ ভবনের একটি ওয়াশরুম থেকে হাইকোর্ট বিভাগের এক কর্মচারীর মরদেহ উদ্ধার করা হয়েছে। সোমবার (১ জুন) দুপুর আড়াইটার দিকে ভবনের ওয়াশরুমের পাশ থেকে মরদেহটি উদ্ধার করা হয়। জানা গেছে, কামাল হোসেন হাইকোর্টের বিচারপতি এনায়েত হোসেনের বেঞ্চে জমাদার হিসেবে কর্মরত ছিলেন। প্রত্যক্ষদর্শী ও পুলিশ সূত্রে জানা গেছে, সোমবার দুপুরের দিকে বিজয় ৭১ ভবনের অষ্টম তলায় ওয়াশরুমের ভেতর গ্রিলের সঙ্গে তাকে ঝুলন্ত অবস্থায় দেখা যায়। খবর পেয়ে শাহবাগ থানা পুলিশ ঘটনাস্থলে গিয়ে তার মরদেহ উদ্ধার করে। প্রাথমিকভাবে পুলিশ ও সংশ্লিষ্টদের ধারণা, এটি একটি আত্মহত্যার ঘটনা। তবে মৃত্যুর প্রকৃত কারণ নিশ্চিত হতে মরদেহ ময়নাতদন্তের জন্য ঢাকা মেডিক্যাল কলেজ (ঢামেক) হাসপাতালে পাঠানো প্রক্রিয়া চলছে। এ বিষয়ে বিস্তারিত তদন্ত সাপেক্ষে আইনগত ব্যবস্থা গ্রহণ করা হবে বলে জানিয়েছে পুলিশ।
