Headmaster beats up student for not wearing shoes in Narail
Headmaster SM Muraduzzaman has beaten up a class 8 student of Lakshmipasha Adarsha School in Lohagara Upazila of Narail with a cane for not wearing shoes to school. The student fell ill and was admitted to the Lohagara Upazila Health Complex.
The victim is Habiba Khan Mishti, daughter of Moniruzzaman Khan Sentu of Gilatola village in Kashipur union of Mishti upazila. Mishti's father has filed a complaint with the Upazila Secondary Education Officer in this incident.
According to the complaint, Headmaster SM Muraduzzaman of Lakshmipasha Adarsh School beat Habiba with a cane in front of the students on the open stage in the school grounds at 3:30 pm on Tuesday. Later, after going home, Mishti felt a high fever. As her daughter fell ill, her father admitted her to the Lohagara Upazila Health Complex on Wednesday.
Mishti's father Moniruzzaman Khan Sentu said, "My daughter was feeling a little sick physically due to fasting. That's why went to school without wearing shoes. That's why the head teacher SM Muraduzzaman beat my daughter with a cane. Why was she beaten like this for such a small matter? I want proper justice. I have filed a complaint with Upazila Secondary Education Officer A. Hamid Bhuiyan in this incident."
S. M. Muraduzzaman, the head teacher of Lakshmipasha Adarsh School, said, "You can't just let the boys and girls go. You have to discipline them a little. So, while disciplining them, an unwanted incident happened."
Upazila Secondary Education Officer A. Hamid Bhuiyan said that the complaint will be investigated and legal action will be taken.
