The International Crimes Tribunal has scheduled a hearing for next Monday to frame charges of crimes against humanity against Sheikh Hasina and former Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal. These charges relate to the mass killings that took place in July and August.

The three-member tribunal, headed by Justice Md. Golam Mortuza Mazumder, announced the date during Tuesday’s session. The hearing on charge framing began at 11:50 AM, with Chief Prosecutor Mohammad Tajul Islam presenting the prosecution’s case. State-appointed lawyer Amir Hossain appeared on behalf of Sheikh Hasina and Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal.

The hearing was broadcast live on BTV. Following the prosecution’s submission, the defense requested two weeks to prepare their arguments. The tribunal granted a one-week extension and fixed the next hearing for Monday.

Previously, on July 1, the tribunal set the date for this charge-framing hearing against Sheikh Hasina, Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal, and former police chief Chowdhury Abdullah Al Mamun in connection with the July-August mass killings.
