Jamaat candidates from Narayanganj-2, 3 and Lalmonirhat-1, 2 constituencies, along with a BNP candidate from Mymensingh-1, have filed cases alleging vote rigging in the 13th national parliamentary election.

The hearings on these cases will be held at the Election Tribunal of the High Court Division on Tuesday, March 3.

An Election Tribunal has been formed in the High Court Division to hear petitions against electoral irregularities under Section 49 of the Representation of the People Order.

It is learned that a single bench led by Justice Md Zakir Hossain will hear the petitions.

Earlier, voting was held in 299 out of 300 seats in the 13th national parliamentary election on February 12. Later, unofficial results of 297 seats were announced. The Election Commission has published the gazette of the winners.

Senior Secretary of the Election Commission Akhtar Ahmed issued the gazette, which includes the names of the elected members of parliament along with their fathers’ or husbands’ names, mothers’ names and addresses. Arrangements will be made later for the swearing-in of the MPs.

However, the gazette for two seats has not been issued for now due to directives from the higher court.
