Heat wave spreads across 15 districts, may intensify further
The ongoing heat wave in the country has expanded, now affecting 15 districts, including Dhaka.
The Bangladesh Meteorological Department reported that the heat wave, which initially impacted 13 districts on Thursday, spread further by Friday and may continue to intensify.
On Friday, Chuadanga recorded the highest temperature at 39.8°C, followed by Rajshahi at 39.7°C. The Meteorological Office classified the heat wave in these areas as moderate. The highest temperature in Jashore and Rajshahi was 37.6°C, while Dhaka recorded 36°C.
Meteorologist Md Shahinul Islam stated that the heat wave is expected to persist, with a slight decrease possible on Sunday. However, daytime temperatures across the country will likely remain unchanged, with night temperatures expected to rise slightly.
According to Saturday’s weather forecast, a mild heat wave is affecting Dhaka, Faridpur, Rajshahi, Pabna, Sirajganj, Lakshmipur, and Feni districts, as well as the entire Khulna division. The heat wave may continue and expand further, with a potential increase in daytime temperatures.
