Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has issued a warning that the ongoing heatwave is likely to persist for 72 hours starting Sunday morning (April 28). This information was revealed in a notice signed by meteorologist Kh. Hafizur Rahman on Sunday (April 28). According to the Meteorological Office, discomfort may increase due to excess water vapor during this time. This announcement follows earlier alerts issued on April 19, 22, and 25, as the BMD continues to monitor and respond to the challenging weather patterns affecting the region.

দেশজুড়ে চলমান তীব্র তাপপ্রবাহ আরও ৭২ ঘণ্টা বা তিন দিন অব্যাহত থাকবে জানিয়ে হিট অ্যালার্ট জারি করেছে আবহাওয়া অধিদপ্তর। রোববার (২৮ এপ্রিল) আবহাওয়াবিদ খো. হাফিজুর রহমান স্বাক্ষরিত এক বিজ্ঞপ্তিতে এ বিষয়টি জানানো হয়। বিজ্ঞপ্তিতে বলা হয়, দেশের ওপর দিয়ে চলমান তাপপ্রবাহ আজ (২৮ এপ্রিল) থেকে পরবর্তী ৭২ ঘণ্টা (তিন দিন) অব্যাহত থাকতে পারে। জলীয় বাষ্পের আধিক্যের কারণে অস্বস্তি বৃদ্ধি পেতে পারে। গত ৩১ মার্চ থেকে দেশের ওপর দিয়ে টানা মৃদু থেকে তীব্র তাপপ্রবাহ বয়ে যাচ্ছে। এমন পরিস্থিতিতে গত ২৫ এপ্রিল তিন দিনের হিট অ্যালার্ট জারি করে আবহাওয়া অফিস। সেই মেয়াদ শেষ হয়েছে শনিবার (২৭ এপ্রিল)।
