Heavy rain with thunder across country, storm warning issued for 14 districts

The Bangladesh Meteorological Department has forecasted moderate to heavy rains with thunder across the country. This information was reported in today's weather forecast on Thursday (August 1).

The forecast indicates that most areas in the Rangpur, Rajshahi, Mymensingh, Dhaka, Khulna, Barisal, Chattogram, and Sylhet divisions may experience light to moderate rain with gusty winds or thunder. Some parts of the country may also see moderate to very heavy rainfall.

Apart from this, he Meteorological Department has predicted a storm with wind speeds of 60 km/h in 14 districts. This warning is in effect for inland river ports across the country until 9:00 am on Thursday.

According to the notification, temporary gusty winds of 45 to 60 km/h from the southeast or east may affect Pabna, Mymensingh, Dhaka, Faridpur, Kushtia, Jashore, Khulna, Barisal, Patuakhali, Comilla, Noakhali, Chattogram, Cox's Bazar, and Sylhet regions, accompanied by rain or thundershowers.
