Hefazat-e-Islam demands immediate ban on ISKCON
Hefazat-e-Islam Bangladesh has called for an immediate ban on the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) following the brutal murder of young lawyer Saiful Islam Alif at the Chattogram court premises.
Hefazat-e-Islam Bangladesh Amir Muhibullah Babunagari and Sajedur Rahman made the demand in a statement, signed by the organization's Azizul Haque Islamabadi, issued on Tuesday night, November 26.
"Following the arrest of Chinmoy Krishna Das, activists and supporters of the ISKCON launched a terrorist attack on the Chattogram court premises, resulting in the brutal murder of lawyer Saiful Islam. We believe this orchestrated violence was instigated and supported by India. The government must ensure justice for the lawyer Saiful by swiftly arresting those involved in this conspiracy. ISKCON, responsible for these terrorist activities, must be banned," the statement read.
"We urged traditional Hindu brothers and sisters not to fall into any trap of India. The government must set an example by taking appropriate initiatives against those who are responsible in creating anti-national anarchy by merging with India’s conspiracy," it added.
Earlier that day, Chinmoy Krishna Das, the spokesperson of Bangladesh Sommilito Sanatani Jagoron Jote, was arrested in a sedition case and taken to the Chattogram court on Tuesday. His followers protested at the court, leading to this brutal incident.
