Popular content creator Ashraful Alam alias Hero Alam has now announced that he wants to contest from Sheikh Hasina's Gopalganj-3 constituency.
In a post on social media on Thursday (November 6), Alam wrote: "If people give me courage, I want to contest from Sheikh Hasina's Gopalganj constituency. Will people from Gopalganj vote for me?"
The post instantly went viral. Netizens gave mixed reactions in the comments section of the post.
Sheikh Hasina contested the national elections from Gopalganj-3 constituency. This constituency consists of Tungipara and Kotalipara. The total number of voters in this constituency is 290,300.
Earlier, he had told the media that he was going to contest from Dhaka-17 constituency in the 13th National Parliament elections.
Earlier, Hero Alam also participated in the by-election held after the death of Dhaka-17 MP Akbar Hossain Pathan Farooq. In that election, he was attacked at a polling station on the day of the election.
In the 11th National Parliament election of 2018, he submitted his nomination papers for the first time as an independent candidate from Bogura. Although his candidacy was cancelled during the scrutiny, he was later reinstated by a court order and contested with the 'lion' symbol. However, he boycotted the election on the day of the election, alleging rigging.
