Hidden camera found in women doctors’ washroom at hospital, intern doctor detained

Police have detained an intern doctor over allegations of installing a hidden camera inside a washroom designated for women doctors at Tangail Medical College Hospital, triggering widespread outrage and tension across the hospital.

On Monday afternoon, January 26, students of the medical college identified the accused intern doctor, Raihan Kabir Imon, within the hospital premises. Following this, angry intern doctors confined him along with the hospital director.

After being informed, an executive magistrate, police and members of the army arrived at the scene. As the situation escalated, police took the accused into custody and later transferred him to the Detective Branch office for questioning.

Tangail Medical College Hospital Director Abdul Quddus said the accused had been taken into police custody. No case has been filed yet, but legal proceedings are underway.

Following the incident, doctors and hospital staff expressed serious concern and anger, demanding a swift and impartial investigation along with exemplary punishment.

Tangail Sadar Police Station Officer-in-Charge Ruhul Amin told the media that necessary legal action would be taken once a written complaint is received.
