Fatema Mamun, a retired banker and wife of historian and academician Muntasir Mamun, died on Monday morning (September 28). She was 75. She died at around 5:30am, according to a statement issued by her family. Fatema completed her professional career as a banker before retiring. She is survived by her daughter Roya Muntasir, sons Misbahuddin Muntasir and Nabil Muntasir, and five grandchildren. According to family sources, her namaz-e-janaza will be held in Kachua, Chandpur, where she will be buried.

অবসরপ্রাপ্ত ব্যাংকার ফাতেমা মামুন (৭৫) মারা গেছেন। তিনি অধ্যাপক ও ইতিহাসবিদ মুনতাসীর মামুনের স্ত্রী। সোমবার (২৮ সেপ্টেম্বর) সকাল সাড়ে ৫টায় তাঁর মৃত্যু হয়। পরিবারের পক্ষ থেকে দেওয়া এক বিজ্ঞপ্তিতে এ তথ্য জানানো হয়েছে। ফাতেমা মামুন ব্যাংকার হিসেবে কর্মজীবন শেষে অবসর নেন। মৃত্যুকালে তিনি মেয়ে রয়া মুনতাসীর, দুই ছেলে মিসবাহউদ্দিন মুনতাসীর ও নাবিল মুনতাসীর এবং পাঁচ নাতি-নাতনি রেখে গেছেন। পরিবার সূত্রে জানা গেছে, চাঁদপুরের কচুয়ায় জানাজা শেষে ফাতেমা মামুনকে দাফন করা হবে।
