Home Adviser makes surprise visit to police stations to oversee law and order
To maintain the law and order situation in Dhaka city, Home Affairs Adviser Lieutenant General (retd) Md Jahangir Alam Chowdhury made a surprise visit to various police stations in the capital on Monday morning (March 10).
The Home Affairs Adviser visited Tejgaon, Kalabagan, Shahbagh, and Newmarket police stations in the capital. During the visit, he inspected the reception areas, lockups, and other essential facilities of the stations. He also spoke with the duty officers and members of the law enforcement agencies, directing them to remain more alert, vigilant, and proactive.
In addition, Jahangir Alam Chowdhury visited several checkpoints/security posts set up at various important intersections in the capital and spoke with the officers on duty. He also monitored the activities of several joint patrol teams.
In response to questions from journalists present at the time, the Home Advisor said, "To ensure security and prevent criminal activities during Ramadan, over a hundred checkpoints have been set up at key locations in the capital, and patrol activities have been increased. Additionally, officers from the Ministry of Home Affairs have been assigned to monitor the patrol operations of the joint forces."
The adviser said, "The government is committed to maintaining law and order during Ramadan."
"Strict action will be taken against criminals, and no offender will be spared," he added.
