Home Adviser suspends SI, constable during surprise visit to 4 police stations
Home Affairs Adviser Lt. Gen (retd) Md. Jahangir Alam Chowdhury conducted a surprise inspection of four police stations in the capital's Mirpur, Darus Salam, Adabor, and Mohammadpur on Thursday morning.
During the visit, a sub-inspector (SI) and a constable from Gulshan Police Station were suspended for negligence of duty.
In response to journalists' questions, Md. Jahangir Alam Chowdhury said, "Law enforcement agencies must ensure that people can sleep peacefully and move around without fear."
He said, "Along with law enforcement agencies, ministry officials have also been assigned to monitor the law and order situation. Additionally, the number of forces and patrols has been increased."
"Those who disrupt law and order will be brought under the law. Law enforcement agencies are alert and vigilant. The checkpoints set up at key locations in the capital are functioning. Joint force operations are also running smoothly. Police stations are operating as usual. This inspection is being carried out to ensure that police stations are functioning properly," he added.
