Home Minister and BNP Standing Committee member Salahuddin Ahmed has accepted an invitation to attend an iftar programme marking the first founding anniversary of the National Citizen Party (NCP). NCP Member Secretary Akhtar Hossain handed over the invitation letter to the minister at his residence late Thursday night (February 26). In a Facebook post, Akhtar said the minister had gladly accepted the invitation. He noted that the anniversary will be observed under the slogan, “The country will move on a new path, fascism will not return.” The main programme will begin with an iftar gathering at the Abahani Field in Dhanmondi. According to the organisers, Salahuddin Ahmed has agreed to attend the event as chief guest.

স্বরাষ্ট্রমন্ত্রী ও বিএনপির স্থায়ী কমিটির সদস্য সালাহউদ্দিন আহমদ জাতীয় নাগরিক পার্টির (এনসিপি) প্রথম প্রতিষ্ঠাবার্ষিকী উপলক্ষে আয়োজিত ইফতার মাহফিলে অংশ নিতে আমন্ত্রণ গ্রহণ করেছেন । বৃহস্পতিবার দিবাগত রাতে এনসিপির সদস্য সচিব আখতার হোসেন স্বরাষ্ট্রমন্ত্রীর বাসভবনে গিয়ে তার হাতে আমন্ত্রণপত্র তুলে দেন। পরে ফেসবুকে দেওয়া এক পোস্টে আখতার হোসেন জানান, মন্ত্রী সানন্দে দাওয়াত গ্রহণ করেছেন। তিনি লিখেছেন, ‘দেশ যাবে নতুন পথে, ফিরবে না আর ফ্যাসিবাদে’—এই প্রতিপাদ্য সামনে রেখে এনসিপির প্রথম প্রতিষ্ঠাবার্ষিকী উদযাপন করা হবে। ধানমন্ডির আবাহনী মাঠে ইফতার মাহফিলের মাধ্যমে অনুষ্ঠানের মূল কর্মসূচি শুরু হবে। এতে প্রধান অতিথি হিসেবে উপস্থিত থাকতে সম্মতি দিয়েছেন স্বরাষ্ট্রমন্ত্রী সালাহউদ্দিন আহমদ বলে জানিয়েছেন আখতার হোসেন।
